Dubai: April 13, 2010 – Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) received three awards at the the Dubai Government Excellence Program (DGEP) in a gala ceremony held at Arena Hall, Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai. The ceremony was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Crown Prince of Dubai, and a number of sheikhs, ministers and officials from various departments and institutions of Dubai.
Ahmed Mansouri, Director of Sama Dubai, won the Creative Employee Award in recognition of his efforts in creating a number of successful TV productions such as ‘Shabiat Al Carton’, the popular animated serial, as well as introducing several distinct programmes, such as (Masirat Al Tamayuz).
‘Qareeb Al Manal’ programme on Dubai TV won the Distinguished Team Award, while Mohammed Ahmed Issa Al Blooshi won the Unknown Soldier Award. Dubai Sports Deputy Director, Hassan Habib was nominated to the final stages of the Distinguished Employee Award.
Ahmad Abdalla Al Shaikh, Managing Director of Dubai Media Incorporated, congratulated the winners of the Dubai Government Excellence Award, calling on devoting the culture of excellence and leadership, pointing at the same time that the vision of Dubai Media Incorporated is focused on top levels of leadership based on innovation, quality, and working in line with the strategic objectives of the Government of Dubai, through a dedicated number of institutional values to provide our Viewers with distinguished, high quality, and credible media services as well as motivating, and developing our Human Resources, encouraging team work, and implementing regulations and work systems in line with the reputation and status of the U.A.E and Dubai, in addition to the development of our media services, quality and diversity through implementing international high quality standards and systems to satisfy the needs of our Customers and Viewers. DMI cares about its internal work environment to meet the health and safety needs of our employees, the organizational and individual goals, and to strengthen our contribution towards the U.A.E society and the Arab World.
Ahmad Abdalla al-Shaikh noted that DMI is the first pioneering media organization in the Middle East to obtain the Certificate of Conformity to ISO 9001:2000, as well as the first in the world obtaining the Certificate of Conformity to ISO 27000, and the Certificate of CIPS in the government sector. DMI departments and channels and human resources, won over 50 local and international awards since 2005 in Europe, America, the Middle East and Asia including (Promax Arabia Promax Asia, Promax India, Promax Europe, Promax New York), as well as receiving the honorary Princess Haya Award for Special Education, the Sports Creativity Award 2009 for ‘Al Jamaheer’ programme on Dubai Sports Channel. ‘Vitamin’ programme on Dubai TV also received the UNICEF Children’s Rights Award2009, in addition to a number of other local, Arab and international awards along with significant achievements in customer satisfaction, human resources, technology, and community service at both governmental and private sector levels.
