Dubai Media Incorporated Board of Directors

Headed by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, the Board of Directors of Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) consists of nine creative leaders renowned worldwide in media, business and innovation. Led by Ahmad Abdulla Al Shaikh, the recently appointed Managing Director of DMI, members of the Board include Dr. Amina Al Rustamani, Mona Al-Marri, Sami Ahmad Dhaen Al Qamzi, Abdelqader Obaid Ali, Faisal Abdulla Abdul Rahman, Ahmed Obaid Al Mansouri, Joseph Ghossoub, and Raja Trad. As part of their mandate, the Board of Directors formulates the strategy and charts the course for the next phase of DMI’s growth. This includes developing the organization and raising the calibre of the staff to execute the DMI mission in a way that reflects the country’s cultural and economic achievements in a transparent and objective manner. Hussein Ali Lootah is the CEO, overseeing the management of DMI, implementing the decisions of the Board of Directors and representing DMI in dealings with third parties.

His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, chairs the Board of Directors of Dubai Media Incorporated. His Highness Sheikh Maktoum is also the Chairman of Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority (TECOM Investments).
His Highness Sheikh Maktoum has accompanied the President of UAE to numerous conferences, summits and official visits.
His apprenticeship at the hands of his father, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in administrative skills has enormously added to his overall management capabilities.
His Highness Sheikh Maktoum has also accompanied His Highness Sheikh Mohammed to several Gulf, Arab and international political and economic conferences.
Guided by his father, Sheikh Mohammed, he has won several championships in local and international equestrian events and is currently the Vice-President of Al-Ahli Club.
Known for his interactive participation and personal supervision of many departments and humanitarian initiatives, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum has inherited most of his leadership qualities from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Ahmad Al Shaikh is the Managing Director of Dubai Media Incorporated. In addition to his responsibilities, he is also the Media Escort to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Ahmad Al Shaikh tracks the media coverage on the political, economic, cultural, social and sport fronts for His Highness Sheikh Mohammed.
One of the media leaders in the country, Ahmad Al Shaikh has been part of the UAE official delegation for many of the Arab and GCC summits. He has also been a crucial member of the delegation that represented the UAE in the world economic forums at Davos in Switzerland.
One of the pioneers of the media industry, Ahmad Al Shaikh has contributed to the sector by playing an influential role in the UAE. Starting his career as a journalist in ‘Al-Ittihad’ newspaper, he moved to the visual media, contributing significantly to the sector’s growth through the various key positions that he held.
Ahmad Al Shaikh is the first sports commentator in Dubai for horse racing and is one of the founders of the Dubai Sports Channel.
He is also the first UAE national to join the General Union of Foreign Journalists in the UK.
In addition to his role on the DMI Board, Ahmad Al Shaikh is a member of the Board of Directors of Dubai Equestrian Club and the Board of Directors of Dubai Sports Council.

Dr. Amina Al Rustamani is the executive director of Media, TECOM Investments and Member of the UAE National Media Council.
Dr. Al Rustamani is leading TECOM Investment's media cluster which encompasses, Dubai Media City (DMC), Dubai Studio City (DSC) and the International Media Production Zone (iMPZ), in her role as Executive Director of Media.
By driving the development of compelling value propositions for the three entities, she has put them on a path for solid growth.
Prior to becoming Executive Director, Dr. Al Rustamani developed some of Dubai Media City’s key services for the media industry, especially the broadcasting sector. As Director of Broadcasting for Dubai Media City, she managed services provided to the organisation’s broadcast business partners.
Dr. Al Rustamani received her B.S., M.S. and D.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from The George Washington University, Washington DC, in 1993, 1996 and 2001 respectively.
Her doctoral work has been published in several leading journals in the engineering field.
She is an acknowledged authority on wireless technologies.
Dr. Al Rustamani joined TECOM in April 2001 as Project Manager for its satellite communications division.

Mona Al Marri is the chairperson of Dubai Press Club and CEO of JiWin PR – the Middle East affiliates of global communications consultant, Burson Marstellar.
Mona Al Marri is the Vice President of Dubai Ladies Club and a Board Leader of the Young Arab Leaders.
She was recently appointed Chairperson of the Dubai Women’s Establishment instituted.
After graduating in Business Administration from the Higher Colleges of Technology in 1996, Mona played a leading role in establishing the Dubai Shopping Festival as a major annual cultural and retail event.
In 1998, her contribution to the DSF was acknowledged when she was made Project Manager for the Dubai Summer Surprises. Subsequently, she was appointed Executive Manager of the Dubai Press Club.
Within three years, she spearheaded the launch of two major media projects - the Arab Journalism Award and the Arab Media Summit.
She also initiated the formation of the International Association of Press Clubs with 20 press clubs from around the world.
Mona Al Marri was nominated the Secretary General of the International Association of Press Clubs, and Dubai became the permanent secretariat of this body.
Mona Al Marri holds key international and regional positions including the Executive Director of the Arab Media Forum and the Secretary General of the Arab Journalism Award.
She was also a jury member of the 2002 International Emmy Awards.
She was conferred with the award for Outstanding Contribution to Community Outreach at the Middle East Women’s Achievement Awards. She has also been named The Best Government Employee for Achieving Excellence in Government Performance in the Dubai Excellence Awards.
 
Sami Dhaen Al Qamzi - Member

Sami Ahmad Dhaen Al Qamzi is currently the Director General of the Department of Finance – Government of Dubai –since June 1, 2005. He is a board member of The Executive council – Dubai, a Board Member of United national Bank, a board member of the Securities and Commodities Authority, deputy chairman of Mohammad Bin Rashid Housing Est, a board member in Dubai Media Incorporated, board member of International City for Humanitarian Aids, and deputy chairman of Al Shabab Sports Club.
Mr. Al Qamzi started his career life in the Military Service as Head of Pay Department from 1986 till 1998. In 1998 he joined Al Bayan Press as Finance Manager and in 2003 he was appointed as CFO for Dubai Media Incorporated.
In 2004, Mr. Al Qamzi became the CEO for Al Bayan Press where he played a key role in designing strategies to assist developing the newspaper in it's new look.
Mr. Al Qamzi received a Bachelor of Arts degree specialized in Accounts/Economy from Emirates University in 1985, in addition to a list of training courses and conferences attended during his years of working experience.
 
Abdulqader Obaid Ali - Member

Abdulqader Obaid Ali is the Director of Group Internal Audit and Business Excellence of Dubai World.
He is also the Chairman of Group Suggestion Reward Scheme for Dubai World and Chairman of Ideas.Arabia.
He has also been nominated to be on the Board of Dubai Institute for Human Resource Development.
He is a member of the Board of Governors of the Institute of Internal Auditors (UAE Chapter).
Prior to joining as Director of Group Internal Audit and Quality, Abdulqader worked at Dubai Aluminum Company for 20 years holding various positions.
As Head of Quality Assurance, he was responsible for the development and maintenance of the ISO certifications.
In the position of Manager of Organization Development, he managed the recruitment, training and succession planning.
As the Manager of Information Technology, he aligned the IT systems to meet business needs.
His commitment to Quality had merited his role as Chairman of Dubai Quality Group, (the tenure of which he has recently completed) and as Lead Assessor of Quality Management Systems for the Dubai Quality Award, Dubai Government Excellence Program and King Abdullah II Award.
Abdulqader holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering Technology from the Arizona State University, U.S.A. and a Master of Science in Technology Management from Stirling University, Scotland, U.K.
He successfully completed “The International General Management Program – Program for Executive Development” conducted by International Institute for Management Development, Switzerland. He is also the first recipient of the Wilfred Thesiger award which he received personally from the legendary explorer himself. Prior to joining as Director of Group Internal Audit and Quality, Abdulqader worked at Dubai Aluminum Company for 20 years holding various positions.

Faisal Abdulla Abdul Rahman - Member

Faisal Abdalla was appointed as a board member for Dubai Media Corporation in April of 2007.
Currently, he is also working in Strategy and Business Development for TECOM Investments, a subsidiary of Dubai Holding, providing consultancy on projects, corporate performance, strategy, and business development.
He was educated in the United States of America, where he received both his Bachelors in Economics and Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in technology.

Ahmed Obaid Al Mansouri is the general coordinator and one of the founders of "Watani" program, which aims to strengthen national identity and community development practices and good citizenship. Ahmed Obaid Al Mansouri began his career in 1995 in the Department of Economic Development-Dubai where recognizes several functions including Assistant Director of the Department of Planning and Development and Head of the PAD and the supervisor of excellence projects.
Al Mansouri also worked in the Public Institution for Exhibitions in Abu Dhabi in 2001 and headed the Department of Information and Communication and head of the Evaluation and Follow-up where acquired considerable experience in the field of exhibitions and international conferences.
In 2002, he established the "Dubai Center for Consultation, Research and Media", a center of strategic thinking in Dubai offers strategic studies.
Al Mansouri also participated in several committees and associations and won the Dubai Award for distinguished government performance- Best Government Employee in 2000.
Al Mansouri serves currently as deputy chairperson and director general of Emirates Incorporated for Advanced Science and Technology of the Dubai government.
Ahmed Obaid Al Mansouri is a holder of a master's degree in quality management from Wollongong University in 1998 and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Economics from Creighton University, USA.

Joseph Ghossoub - Member

Joseph Ghossoub is Chief Executive Officer of The Holding Group (THG), parent company of Team/Young & Rubicam, Intermarkets Advertising, ASDA’A Public Relations, Polaris Public Relations, mediaedge:cia and Wunderman.
One of the Middle East communications industry’s most prominent spokespersons, he has been involved in managing regional and global agencies for over two decades.
After successfully managing multinational client portfolios, Joseph joined Team Advertising as Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer.
In 1997, he served as CEO ever since.
Joseph was elected president of the IAA UAE Chapter and he played a major role in winning the bid to host the 40th IAA World Congress in Dubai in 2006.
Joseph also presided over the Lebanese Business Council and remains an advisory council member of the American University in Dubai. He has recently participated in the establishment of the Emirati-Lebanese Friendship Association.
Decorated with Lebanon's highest civilian honour in 2004 In May 2006 he was awarded the Presidency Shield of the Republic of Lebanon.
In November 2006, he received Campaign Middle East’s ‘Man of the Year’ award.
In March 2007, Joseph placed at No. 23 by Arabian Business magazine and is its highest-rated advertising personality.

Raja Trad is the chief executive officer of the Leo Burnett Group of Companies, Middle East and North Africa.
Trad began his career in advertising in 1978 as an account executive with Young & Rubicam.
In 1981, he joined H&C Leo Burnett Beirut as an account director and in 1984 he was named regional account director.
Trad moved to Bahrain in 1987 as sub-regional managing director for the Bahrain, UAE and Kuwait operations.
He also served as regional account director on Philip Morris.
In 1991, Trad became regional managing director for the Leo Burnett Middle East network, and in 1994 was promoted to CEO of Leo Burnett Middle East and North Africa.
In 2005, Trad was appointed to the Leo Burnett Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) Executive Committee and in December 2006 he was appointed member of the Leo Burnett Worldwide Global Management Council (GMC,) and his responsibilities were extended to CEO Leo Burnett Group of Companies Mediterranean.
Trad is an active board member of the Dubai Media Incorporated and the IAA UAE Chapter.
Born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, Trad received his Bachelor of Arts in political studies and public administration from the American University of Beirut in 1977.
